Today's Easter harvest:-

fresh crisp Lettuces, some Tomatoes, a white Egg Plane, Several Lime, and the last Cucumbers

for the season before I set up my greenhouse plastic cover over the arches, that allow me to grow Cucumbers and lots more Tomatoes through the Winter months

A new addition to the garden, a tropical Blue berry bush, it will grow up to about 2 meters according to the information tag

the first time that I have had any luck with Grape wines thanks to some advice from GB on the farm.

it is a white Muscat grape, perhaps I will have some fruit next season!!!

the next Pineapple will be ready soon

one of 2 left of the miniature cantaloupes, the wine has died off so I am ripening them in the sun doing the day and taking them in at night to prevent the slugs getting to them at night, it works!!

to day I have fertilized with 3 in one seaweed / Fish emulsion with a Hose-on spray

5 Coffee bushes in the fernery, being propagated for GB on the farm,

it will be a while yet before they are ready for the plantation.

It is the start of 11 days of planting by the Moon.

To day I planted some more seeds:-
Buttercrunch Lettuces, Dwarf Brolotti Beans, some more Leek, Telephone Peas,
and some Dwarf Butter beans, Bush Cherokee Wax Beans.
I have a plague of Potato beetles, any suggestions??

the Broad Beans is up and doing well, I pick them very young and steamed the whole bean.
The veggie garden is doing well, I was concerned about all the rain we have had in the last couple of weeks as I had planted seedlings as well as seeds and Garlic seed bulbs, but all is up and looking well apart from one lot of the garlic.
Yesterday I watered all the new seedlings with Thrive to give them a kick start, it always works.

Time to feed the blog again, times gets away

heaving had an excellent crop of eggplant this season here is one of many gigantic and very tender crops.

Sliced 15 millimeter and fried in Olive oil served with Spaghetti bolognese, delicious!!!

well this is my hanging garden from the arches!!

I have put some garden arches from Bunnings into my veggie garden, which has been very successful, I am in the process of introducing an other 4 arches (between heavy showers) for any thing climbing, like Beans,Peas etc as well as the cucumbers, I am very pleased with the result.

The garden is looking good and just about all the seeds i planted has germinated except the Parsley, I think we have had to much rain the last week for the parsley seeds, between 1 and 3 inches in the old scale every 24 hours, every thing is soaked.

Apricot Jam.

Place 500 gr quartet ripe Apricots in preserving pot, place 375 gr Sugar over the fruit, and 1/2 sachet of Jam setter mixed into the sugar then the zest of a lemon and the juice of one lemon pored over the sugar, gently mix then cover and let the juice happen while you have your Sundowner approx 1/2 hour.

Then start over low heat stir gently occasional til boiling, simmer for a few minutes, test the Jam on a frozen saucer, when setting sufficiently bottle and seal at once.

the flavour is excellent on a Sunday croissant for breakfast.

My first ever pineapple that I have grown successfully

My Pineapple after the first fruit, very sweet and tasty, but I left it on the plant for ripening a little to long, Gemini told me not to pick it to green!!! that eas a mistake, it wasen't suitable for preserving.

Second lot of miniature Cantaloupe (Rock Melon) for the season. the vine is small and only coves an arear 3 square feet, produces very sweet and tasty fruit the size of a cricket ball.
